Services are structured around three core streams: Planning, Building and Risk.
Services may be provided independently or as part of an integrated project response.
Planning
Pre-application advice
Early bushfire risk and compliance advice to inform site selection, layout and design prior to planning or building permit submission. Early engagement reduces redesign, approval delays and regulatory risk.
Planning applications – Bushfire Management Overlay (BMO)
Advice supporting planning permit applications within the BMO, including bushfire hazard assessment, planning and design input, and preparation of Bushfire Management Statements (BMS) and Bushfire Management Plans (BMP).
Renewable energy facilities
Advice supporting the planning, design and operation of renewable energy facilities located in Bushfire-Prone Areas.
Assistance may include stakeholder consultation and development of bushfire risk solutions in accordance with the Design Guidelines and Model Requirements for Renewable Energy Facilities, including solar, wind and large-scale battery energy storage facilities.
Building
Vulnerable occupancies in Bushfire-Prone Areas
Specialist bushfire advice for childcare, school, healthcare and aged care buildings located in bushfire-prone areas.
Services support planning approvals, building permits and due-diligence reviews, including compliance pathways under the NCC and Specification 43.
Performance-based design advice can be provided where deemed-to-satisfy solutions are not appropriate.
Independent peer review services are also available for bushfire compliance and risk assessments.
Risk
Bushfire due-diligence and risk assessments
Hazard-based bushfire risk assessments for existing residential, care, education and government facilities to support duty-of-care obligations and informed risk management.
Emergency management planning
Preparation of bushfire emergency management documentation, including Bushfire Emergency Management Plans (BEMP), where required for planning or operational purposes.
Expert advice
Independent technical advice, peer review and expert witness services for planning, building and legal matters relating to bushfire protection.
Additional services include vegetation management advice and hazard-reduction strategies.
Post-incident analysis for bushfire events can also be provided.
